QUESTIONS YOU MAY BE WONDERING:
How it works ?
Each woman is required to attend training workshops prior to applying for a loan. They learn how to write a business plan, and
steps they need to take to grow their business, so they can be free of generational poverty. The money is loaned on a honor
system. The women form a co-op or sisterhood with the other women in their area. They decide amongst themselves who will be
the first to receive a micro loan. As each repay their loan another woman then receives hers. Everyone lends encouragement to
their sister to achieve a common goal.
They are required to open a savings account at a standard bank and save a portion of their profits. A Jah Glory loan manager,
counselor, as well as other resources will always be available to assist the women.
Do the women really repay the loans ?
Yes, the women take great pride in repaying the loans. Also they know that the other women in their group is waiting for their turn
to receive a loan.
What happens if someone's business fails and she cannot repay the loan ?
Every effort is made to help prevent the business from failing. The women have the support of other women as well as the support of
the JAH GLORY team who is always available to give assistance and advise. This is why the women are required to attend the
business workshops and learn to write a business plan before being ready for a micro loan.
Why do we need another Micro Loan Programme
We need more Micro Loan Programmes because the number of poor women especially grandmothers who are literally struggling
each day to survive is growing each and every minute of every day. Generational poverty is out of control and it takes each of us to
do our part to bring this crime to an end.
We also support and join forces with other non-profit, non-government, charities with sustainable grassroots projects that meet our
criteria for helping women and children.
